TROUBLE: Flying into Brussels

I am heading to Europe on Sunday and am really looking forward to it. I was scheduled to fly into Brussels Airport arriving Monday, March 28th. In light of the tragic bombings I had to reconsider my travel plans. When you are faced with a challenging situation like this it’s important to stay informed and consider alternative options. I kept up to date by reading the Brussels Airport website. My brother is not able to travel into Brussels to pick me up due to travel bans in place and there is unknown when the airport will reopen. On Wednesday I decided to change my flight given all the uncertainty. Thankfully United Airlines was willing and able to change my flight so I now fly into Dusseldorf Airport. If you encounter challenges make sure to check with your airline to understand your options. It could alleviate stress and delays.

My heart breaks for all of those impacted by the Brussels bombings.
